The house
Francis Miller and Patrick Bertaux founded Miller et Bertaux in Paris in 1985, from a shop on rue Ferdinand Duval in the Marais. They work as makers rather than as a conventional fragrance house: the collections begin with objects, textiles and impressions brought back from travelling, and the scents follow from those.
The range runs across home scent, perfume and body care — diffusers, candles, liquid soap and eau de parfum — with the fragrances composed in Grasse and Provence. The naming is the clearest signal of how the house works: In The Garden, In The Temple, In The Mountain are written as sentences, not as product codes, and a customer picks between them the way they would pick between places.
In China
